This pine bark is from New Zealand. The bark does not decompose easily. Hence the substrate dies not turn acidic. Recommended for young orchid saplings or transpotting your oversized orchids.
Healthy Orchid Roots
Place a thin layer of tiny pine bark in the bottom of the pot.
Position the plant in the middle with the roots below the rim.
Gently place pine barks around the roots without leaving any space. Tap pot lightly to settle.
Water directly.
Use orchid fertilizer as directed for its use.
As orchids have air roots which are not buried in soil, I recommend using fertiliser which will not be washed away quickly by watering or dissolve too quickly to burn the orchids root.
