A terrarium is a collection of small, decorative plants growing in an enclosed environment. It comprises of soil, plants, water and other elements to form a mini sustainable ecosystem.
Soil
Pink pebbles chips
Sand
Charcoal
Ornamental owl
Fittonia plant
Glass container with a transparent lid
First, take out the materials in the terrarium bottle. There should be 5 items- soil, pink pebbles, sand, charcoal, and an owl. You should also have one fittonia plant.
Next, pour in the pink pebbles. This is for the drainage of the water that you put in the terrarium.
Then, pour in the charcoals and shake it to even it out. This is to absorb the moisture and to act as a layer between the pebbles and soil.
Then, add in half of the soil and create a hole in the middle of the soil.
Next, gently tap the sides of the plant pot so as to loosen the soil. Gently remove the plant from the soil and place the plant in the container.
Add more soil at the sides to support the plant.
Second last step- add the sand evenly into the container.
Lastly, place the owl on top of the sand as decoration.
Lastly, water the terrariums using a straw.
How to care for your plant:
Add a drop of water using a straw once a year into the terrarium. The water will condense and go back to the system so be careful not to overwater! If the glass is foggy, open the cap and leave it for a day before re-capping.
